2015 ELISS Fellows present “Re-Imaging Epidemic Communication Strategies" at AAAS in Washington
Christine is one of the 2015 Emerging Leaders in Science & Society (ELISS) Fellows, a leadership program piloted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The Fellows joined experts from the policy arena regarding epidemic communication research and convening local forums during their yearlong project across the following 4 universities: University of Washington (Seattle), University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), Purdue University (Indiana), Stanford University (Bay Area).
The 2015 Class of ELISS Fellows chose a yearlong project on epidemic communications after recognizing the role that misinformation played in the year's Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The following is a write-up of our forum from AAAS:
